School Charity has been announced: CLAPA – Cleft Lip & Palate Association
Dear All,
After much debate and deliberation from the School Council, the school charity for this year has been decided and announced as “CLAPA – Cleft Lip & Palate Association."
The Cleft Lip & Palate Association CLAPA is a national charity working to improve the lives of people born with a cleft lip and their families. In the UK alone, around 1,200 babies are born with a cleft lip each year. In early pregnancy, different parts of a baby’s face develop separately and then join together. If some parts do not join properly, the baby is born with a cleft.
Here is an link of who they are and what they do if you'd like to know more: https://www.clapa.com
CLAPA is a small charity with no government funding. They count on fundraising and donations from people like us to continue their work around the UK. Monetary collections already made from Class Assemblies and future Christmas performances will be forwarded on to the charity and each year group and class will be looking for imaginative and creative ways to raise funds for such a worthy cause over the rest of the year. Previously we have had Sponsored Swims, Sponsored Timetables, Sponsored Cake Sales as well Sponsored Crazy Hair Day!
Look out for further exciting updates!
Thank-you always for your continued support.
