FOB Latest News:
It has been another successful year of fundraising. We are extremely lucky to have such a well supported, healthy PTA organisation, so many thanks for all your support. Whether it is providing ideas at our meetings, organising and preparing events, helping to run stalls, tidy away at events or for coming along and spending the money—it really is a team effort! We look forward to seeing you all again in September.

Fun Afternoon
This was a super afternoon of fun for all. Many thanks to all of you who came along to help on stalls or to simply enjoy yourselves with the children.

Bingo Night Many of you came along to join in the fun at our Summer bingo evening to sample the high quality food & entertainment on offer. Many thanks to our brilliant Bingo callers, Sue Lewis & Simon Marsden who again impressed us all with their ‘Bingo Lingo’! Also thanks to all parents & members of staff who helped the evening run smoothly . Special thanks must go to Mrs Nadir & her team of ladies who cooked some super tasty curries.

Bench Donations Our ‘Dress Up-Dress Down’ day was fantastically supported & we raised £331, helping FOB donate £400 towards the commemorative bench which can now be seen at the front of school outside the reception classrooms.
Annual General Meeting Our Annual General Meeting was a very enjoyable evening, celebrating our achievements & thanking FOB committee members for their hard work over the last year. Particular mentions were given to Sue Lewis & Simon Marsden along with a sad farewell to Claire Ellis who will leaves us after many years of commitment towards supporting FOB events. Particular thanks also goes towards Lisa Massa, Janet Hartley & Sarah Baggaley who have agreed to stay as core committee for another year.

Musical Evening & Disco The year’s events were rounded off by the Musical Evening & disco earlier this week. We raised over £1000 at the Musical Evening! A fantastic result! Many thanks to all of you who came along & enjoyed the fine food, drink & entertainment. A special ‘well done’ to those of you who took to the stage. The disco on Tuesday night was also well attended & raised over £260.

SUMMER FAIR
A big thank you from FOB and everyone who works at school for all the help in producing another successful summer fair. Even though the weather was bad a big thank you goes to all those who turned up and had an enjoyable afternoon. We took £1400 and this will be increased by additional sales of stock at the Musical Evening \ Barbecue

FOB Events this term
The events ran by FOB this term require significant parental help. Last year after some persuasion we had a good response. If you can help at events please make your self available and respond to the flyers sent home. Many of our helpers enjoy the events especially when they know they have contributed to a successful event.

FOB Family Quiz Night
Many thanks to all who supported the quiz night. A very enjoyable night was had by all.

FOB Table Top Sale
Many thanks to all who supported the sale. All the tables were sold and it raised about £150 for FOB funds.

Christmas Fair (8th Dec 2006)
We had an excellent turn out for this popular event and an enjoyable time was had by all. The stalls were very busy and we had several new additions such as a palm reader, a mini-auction and a visiting wine-merchant! About 120 children visited Father Xmas in his grotto and we raised just over £2,000 at the fair, which was an excellent result. A big thankyou to all those people who attended (and spent money!), those who helped set up the fair and those who worked hard in the months leading up to the fair (especially the craft group and the ‘beggars’!). Also a special thanks to all those who donated prizes for our tombolas and those shops/businesses who contributed prizes for our raffle.

Bingo Night (16th Nov 2006)
Many thanks to all of you who came to support our Bingo & Supper Night. It certainly was a ‘Full house’ with extra tables needing to be drafted in at the last minute. Much fun was had by all and a fantastic profit was made.

Summer Fair (22nd July 2006)
Many thanks to all those people who attended and those who helped set up & prepare for the fair. After the short-lived Fun Afternoon (!) the weather was kind to us (just) and an enjoyable time was had by all. There were lots of new games & attractions including hoopla, safe cracker, marble run, a display of Jaguar cars, a penalty shootout (sponsored by Manchester Schools Soccer League) and even a palm reader! The event was covered by a local press photographer and made front page news in the Stockport Express! Takings on the day were slightly down on last year, but nevertheless it was considered to be yet another successful Summer Fair for both FOB and the school.

FUN AFTERNOON: Friday 12 May 2006
Many thanks to those who responded to the request for help. We had a very good response and it was very nice to see so many new faces helping. Look out for requests to help at the Summer Fair. The afternoon was very well supported – a big thanks to all who turned up to enjoy the event. It was such a pity a mini tornado arrived. Big thanks to those who helped tidy away and those who ran some events in the Hall.

PET SHOW : Friday 7 April 2006
Attendance at this year’s show was really encouraging with a wide variety of pets brought in for judging. We had rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, fish, birds…..and even the occasional spider & lizard! It was nice to see lots of new parents at the event and gave the children a great opportunity to get up close and personal with different animals. A big thank you to all the parents who helped (making crafts, baking cakes and manning stalls) and especially to Dave Jackson (plus his team of judges/exhibitors) & Wendy Dyer who helped supervise the animals and organise the judging. Our thanks must also go to staff from Pets at Home who brought along some animals, as well as giving out free advice and goody bags. With proceeds from entrance fees, crafts, gifts and refreshments, FOB raised over £200 and the event was judged to be a great success.

The winners of our ‘Design an Easter Egg Competition’ were also announced and on display at the Pet Show. We had a fantastic response to this new competition and the quality of all the entries was outstanding.

ADULT QUIZ NIGHT : Friday 10 Feb 2006

Our ever-popular Quiz Night was once again a great success with more teams than ever taking part. Thanks must go to Sue Lewis and Graham Hughes for devising the quiz, organising a raffle and hosting the evening. FOB raised in excess of £600, so a big thank you to everyone involved. An enjoyable evening was had by all!
